Klaus Berning is to take over the sales and marketing department of Porsche in Stuttgart from 2 November.
He was appointed to the management board on 26 July and succeeds Hans Riedel who left the company on 31 July after 12 years on the board.
Berning previously worked for BMW and was most recently head of sales in Asia, Pacific, Africa and eastern Europe.
Another 26 July board appointee, Thomas Edig, will take over management of the personnel department from Harro Harmel in May. Hammel will retire after 25 years at Porsche.
Edig comes from Deutsche Telekom where he was board member in charge of personnel and organisation.
