Consolidated sales totaled EUR1.55bn, up from EUR1.25bn in 2004 thanks to a 29% increase in sales by the wiring systems division (EUR879.4m in 2005, up from EUR683.1m in 2004). Wiring systems for new car models from Opel, DaimlerChrysler, BMW, Land Rover and Porsche generated the growth.
The wire & cable division generated an 18% increase in sales to EUR668.6m, although part of this growth came from the increase in the price of copper.
Leoni also achieved substantial growth in earnings before interest and tax (EBIT), to EUR102.8bn, up from EUR56.8bn a year earlier.
Net income more than doubled to EUR27.7m.
Full results will be announced on 22 March.
