AGC Automotive, the automotive glass division of Tokyo-based Asahi Glass (AGC), and Daimler today (29 June) said they had signed a long-term agreement for the development and supply of automotive glazing.

Under the multi-year contract signed on 30 April, AGC will supply side and rear windows for Mercedes-Benz passenger cars and SUVs manufactured both in Europe and the USA.


AGC is one of the first strategic suppliers to be nominated under Daimler’s new purchasing policy and this agreement extends an existing partnership between the two companies.


AGC, the world’s largest glass manufacturer, said it had differentiated itself in terms of quality, service, development and technology and was consequently selected by Daimler as the preferred global partner to support future model development.
