There’s a new nose and a new, top-of-the-line engine – a 230 hp 2.8-litre V6 turbo from GM’s Global V6 family. A 100 hp variant has been added to the 1.9 CDTI diesel range.

Chassis tuning has been tweaked and the IDSPlus (Interactive Driving System) chassis with electronic CDC (Continuous Damping Control) is available with even more engines. The new models will be built at Rüsselsheim in Germany and sales start in September.

New options are the innovative Trailer Stability Assist, which prevents dangerous yawing of the car-trailer combination, the Quickheat heating system, and a cellular phone portal with Bluetooth interface and voice control.

Inside, the top sections of the instrument panel and door trim have a new, leather-look grain and there have been minor changes to trim, instruments and finishers.

GM claims the Vectra was the best-selling mid-size sedan in Europe last year with a market segment share of 9.2%. Around 600,000 third-generation Vectras have been sold worldwide to date – the models carry Opel, Vauxhall, Holden and Chevrolet badges.
