Ford of Europe is planning a dedicated national sales company (NSC) organisation for Romania which will take full responsibility for the marketing, sales and service of its vehicles there from August 2010.

Ford said the NSC is the next logical step in the country following a steady increase in vehicle sales in recent years and the purchase of the Craiova vehicle manufacturing plant in the south-west.

Romcar SRL has been the authorised Ford importer for 16 years. Both companies will prepare a detailed transition plan for the changeover.

The new NSC will be headed by Vladimir Vosicky and based in Bucharest. He has worked for Ford since 1991 and was previously managing director for the Czech Republic for seven years.

All dealers in Romania will have a new agreement with Ford from 1 August 2010.
