Ford has been producing the Focus at Saarlouis ever since 1998.
“The Ford Focus is a very important model for Ford, because it is a world car. Last year, a little over 1m Ford Focus models were sold worldwide and more than one in four came from the Saarland,” said Karl Anton, director manufacturing at Ford Europe.
Saarlouis produces every vehicle in the Focus range from the sporty ST to the pure battery-electric powered Ford Focus Electric. Saarlouis also manufactures C-Max and Grand C-Max.
Every day 1,770 vehicles roll off the assembly line at Saarlouis. Since the facility was opened in June 1970, more 13.6m Ford vehicles have been produced there.
