Mazda Motors Germany president and CEO Klaus Tarlatt will step down on 1 January 2004, after six years, to be replaced by Michael Bergmann, currently managing director, who joined the firm last September.

Bergmann joined Mazda after nine years in various executive positions with General Motors Europe, including managing director of Opel Nederland, regional director e-GM United Kingdom, manager for dealer agreements and policies, and as director for dealer network development.
