BMW is recruiting a group of unemployed young Spaniards to work in Germany in a pilot programme aimed at “giving something back” to the countries where it sells its cars.
A group 25 will be trained for a year at the carmaker’s headquarters in Munich, personnel chief, Milagros Caina-Andree, told the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung newspaper.

The 18-25 year-olds will be offered places in a number of departments including product development, sales and marketing. During their time in Germany they will stay with a BMW host family and, at the end of their course, will choose to return home to Spain or remain in Germany.
Caina-Andree, who joined BMW’s management board last year, said the programme could be expanded to other countries such as Italy or Greece if it is successful.
She told the paper:”We want to give something back to these countries, in which we sell our cars, after all,” she said.
