BMW Group has reorganised its management board and changes take effect on 1 April. A new HR manager joins the board in July.

Klaus Draeger, previously responsible for R&D, and Herbert Diess, previously responsible for purchasing and supplier network, will switch roles.

Ian Robertson will head BMW brand marketing and sales and also take chargee of the M and i sub-brands plus group distribution channels.

Harald Krüger will remain head of human resources and continue his role as labour relations director until 30 June. He will also manage a newly-formed division with responsibility for Mini, Rolls-Royce and BMW Motorrad [motocycles], including the product lines and marketing and sales for each area. He will also be in charge of expanding group aftersales business, a key focus of the company’s current ‘Strategy Number One’.

From 1 July, Milagros Caiña-Andree will head human resources and become labour relations director. She currently is in charge of human resources in the transport and logistics division at Deutsche Bahn Group is also responsible for human resources at Schenker.

“The rigorous implementation and refinement of our successful [strategy] will place even further demands on our company in the future. We need an organisation that can handle the increasing complexity of the tasks involved to ensure that the group maintains its successful course in the future,” said BMW chairman Norbert Reithofer.

“Ms Caiña-Andree will bring extensive expertise in operational and strategic human resources and personnel management to the BMW Group,” said supervisory board chairman Joachim Milberg.

Management board members Friedrich Eichiner and Frank-Peter Arndt retain responsibility for their finance and production divisions, respectively.
