The X3, available in a choice of 4- and 6- cylinder engines, will have four-wheel drive and electronic systems to optimise off-road ability as standard.
The X7 model, which will be offered in V-8, V-12 gasoline and V-8 super-diesel engines, will have adjustable air suspension and technology from the next-generation Range Rover, which the German car maker is obliged to do as part of its agreement with Ford.
BMW is also developing an X5 pick-up specifically for the US market, say the reports, alongside sports versions of the X5.
