BMW Group has announced that so far this year – up to and including November – the volume of BMW, Mini and Rolls-Royce cars sold reached 1,093,640 units, some 8.6% ahead of the same period last year.
 
In the month of November sales were 7.3% ahead of the same month last year at 104,425 units.
 
BMW said that it has now delivered, in the first eleven months of 2004, the company has already delivered almost as many vehicles to customers as in the whole of the previous year (1,104,916).

In Western Europe, sales performance in 2003 was exceeded by the end of November 2004 with some 643,882 units (last year in total: 638,773). The individual markets that have already exceeded last year’s sales volumes include Germany, where the number of deliveries to customers for the period ending November 2004 has reached 257,550 units, which is 8.7% up on the first eleven months of last year (236,868; total year 2003: 255,809).


Dr. Michael Ganal, Member of the Board of Management of BMW AG responsible for sales and marketing, states: “With these figures, our goal for the year of increasing our sales by a high single-digit percentage at Group level is now within our reach.”


The number of BMW vehicles delivered worldwide rose in November by 7.0% to 89,715. Up to and including November, the increase was 9.4% to 920,428 units (prev.yr.: 841,644).


BMW brand sales have been boosted by the sales impact of the BMW 1 Series. In November 1 Series sales reached 11,666 units. In the first ten weeks since the market launch on 18 September, 26,933 models have already been delivered.


The BMW 3 Series crossed a BMW threshold in November: by the end of November 2004, over 3 million (3,011,040) 3 Series models had been delivered to customers since the market launch at the beginning of 1998. Never in its entire history has the BMW Group sold as many automobiles from one model series.

This automobile superbly embodies what the BMW brand stands for: it truly is the ultimate driving machine. The new BMW 3 Series saloon, which we will be offering from spring next year, will further extend this unique position.”


Rolls-Royce handed over 80 Phantoms to customers in November. The volume of sales since the beginning of the year is now 636 automobiles.
