Growth in Europe, North America and Asia was about 20% in each case. China and Russia stood out for high growth – China rose 56.6% with 4,141 vehicles delivered and Russia deliveries rose 50.8% to 1,315 units.
For the year to the end of July, deliveries increased 6.5% year on year to 853,202 vehicles.
Sales of BMW brand vehicles rose 20.2% in July to 104,096 vehicles with the new X5, up 69.8% to 9,366 deliveries, recording the highest increase.
For the year to the end of July 2007, 726,414 BMWs were sold, up 6.2% year on year.
Mini sales rose 19.1% last month to 18,838 units. Year to date deliveries were up 8.2% to 126,411 vehicles.
Sales and marketing head Michael Ganal said: “One of the decisive reasons for our market success is undoubtedly the fact that we are well ahead of our competitors in implementing measures to reduce CO2 emissions. By the autumn of this year, around 40% of the new vehicles delivered to customers by the BMW Group will have a CO2 emission level of 140g/km at most.”
Rolls-Royce has already delivered 31 new Phantom Drophead Coupés and total brand deliveries rose 62.7% last month to 83. Year to date sales were up 11.5% to 377 units.
