BMW has appointed Harald Krüger as board member responsible for human resources and industrial relations. He replaces Ernst Baumann who will step down from the management board on 1 December after reaching the age limit.

BMW chairman, Joachim Milberg said: “Krüger has a wealth of experience in both our production and human resources divisions. With the choice we are ensuring that the implementation of our ‘Strategy Number One’ will be backed by competent, long-term support on the human resources side.”


Krüger most recently was director of the production strategy, control and planning division. Before that he managed the group’s engine plant at Hams Hall here in the UK. Krüger joined the automaker in 1992.


Ernst Baumann was appointed board member for human resources and industrial relations in 1999 has served the longest term.
