Pay talks for the 3,800 workers at Volkswagen’s subsidiary, Auto 5000 GmbH, have been rescheduled, reported dpa-AFX.

The news agency quoted a spokesperson for the union IG Metall, which said that after four hours of discussions the two parties were not close to an agreement. A date for further discussion has been set for 19th April.
The current wage agreement ends on March 31st. Unions have called for a pay increase of 5% as well as additional pension contributions. Volkswagen says that given the tough competitive environment there is no room for manoeuvre.
Auto 5000 workers are paid substantially below their Volkswagen colleagues.
