New car registrations in Germany fell 5% in August compared with the same month a year ago to 214,100, according to figures from the VDA industry association.
Year to date German deliveries have dropped 7% to 1.97m with negative figures in six of the first eight months of 2013.

Sales in Spain and France fell 18.3% and 11% respectively in August.
