Audi is constructing a new paint shop at its plant in Ingolstadt, Germany.

New technology has been introduced for the top coat paint line. The first bodies will be painted in June 2016.

A dry scrubbing process, which uses rock flour to separate paint particles from waste air, will be used, ET Auto.com reported.

The plant will operate with air circulation, returning 80% of the cleaned waste air into the system, reducing heat and water consumption.

Future painting will be completely automated with robots.
