“We think he took money for making the contracts,” a spokeswoman for the Prosecution Office of Frankfurt told just-auto from the German city. “We have an arrest warrant and this says there are six cases, around EUR70,000.

“I think it will take time because we try to get information about bank accounts from different countries, from Switzerland, Russia and we can’t say how long.”

The Prosecutor’s Office confined itself to noting the Continental employee in the corruption investigation was a “manager” involved in securing contracts.

“We have an investigation in other countries – this is not easy,” said the spokeswoman. “One [investigation] comes from Africa – it will be very difficult to get something there but we have to try to find some information.”
