GTI additions include honeycomb grill structure with red edging, deep honeycomb air dam, vertical fog lights,side sill extensions, new rear diffuser, chrome tail pipes, smoked LED tail lights and 17-inch ‘Monza’ alloys.
The interior has the GTI hatchback’s leather multifunction steering wheel, handbrake and gear lever gaiters all finished with contrasting red stitching. The pedals have brushed stainless steel caps and there are black decorative inlays on the doors and dashboard. Hood lining and roof pillar trims are black.
The convertible shares the hatchback’s two-litre turbocharged 210PS I4 engine with standard six-speed manual gearbox or optional six-speed dual-clutch DSG transmission.
Europe sales start around summer. Right hand drive versions go on sale here in the UK in the second half.
