The Renault Kangoo van Maxi ZE, a long wheelbase version, will join Renault’s range of electric vehicles at the end of 2011.
UK pricing is GBP17,990 (excluding VAT) for the two seater and GBP18,690 for the five seat crew van. The battery costs GBP59 per month to lease (assuming use of 9,000 miles annually over four years).
The new van will be unveiled at the Geneva show and ‘reservations’ are open at http://www.renault-ze.com
Renault launched electric vehicles in 2008 with the announcement of a line of four models. Adding the LWB version will give Renault two electric compact vans by the end of the year.
The wheelbase has been lengthened 400mm to 4,600mm.
Renault thinks the longer version will appeal to business customers (fleet owners, trades people, public authorities) who are looking for maximum carrying capacity and, in the case of the crew van version, those wanting a low-emissions ‘people carrier’.
