Citroen’s C1 variant of the Czech-built city car model line shared with Peugeot (108) and Toyota (Aygo) will be a bit more distinctive this time around thanks to a unique nose with prominent oval headlight units.
Toyota has released a ‘teaser shot’ but so far has kept its version under wraps.
Citroën said it had sold 760,000 C1s since launch in 2005. Like Peugeot, it will offer the redesign in both three and five-door versions plus a new fabric roof, open top body style called Airscape (Peugeot calls it the Top!).
Citroen will also sit the secen inch Touch Driver Interface and Mirror Screentechnology, to copy and run smartphone apps from the touchscreen, as standard and offer keyless entry and start, as well as a reversing camera and hill-start assist as options.
Automatic air conditioning and heated seats will also be available.
Engine choices are the e-VTi 68 Airdream engine with five-speed gearbox, Stop&Start technology and a special aerodynamics pack, plus the same with automated manual dubbed ETG (Efficient Tronic Gearbox).
