Chrysler Group’s future may be uncertain and it may be suffering due to over reliance on trucks, but it turned heads in Geneva with its Dodge Demon Roadster concept car.

The compact two-seat rear-wheel drive “roadster with attitude” is designed to create an affordable Dodge sports car.

Peter Lambert, Managing Director of Chrysler Group said: “You might think that American cars always have to be big – but with the Hornet concept and now the Demon Roadster, Dodge has rewritten the rules for cool American car design.

“The Dodge Demon gives a taste for a potential future roadster that could sit alongside the Caliber and the Nitro and Avenger cars that we will launch later this year.”

The concept is powered by a 2.4-litre petrol engine the Dodge Demon is capable of producing 172 horsepower at 6000 rpm and 165 lb-ft of torque at 4400 rpm.
