Compared with the existing model, the latest Combi is 7 mm longer and 46 mm higher. The load area, seats up, has grown 54 litres to 480 litres and, with rear seats folded, total volume is up 235 litres to 1,460 litres.

There are three petrol engines (1.2 12V 51kW, 1.4 16V 63kW and 1.6 16V 77kW) and three diesels (1.4 51kW, 1.4 59kW and 1.9 77kW), all with five-speed manual transmissions.

The 77kW 1.6 petrol version can be optionally equipped with a six-speed automatic transmission (Tiptronic) and a diesel particulate filter (DPF) is available for the two more powerful diesels.

Standard equipment includes the boot roller shutter cover similar to that in the Octavia Combi.

Škoda Auto has sold over 630,000 first-generation Fabia Combis worldwide so far, and will continue producing this previous-generation model at least until the end of 2007.

The company has also kept a previous-generation Octavia in production for some markets such as India.
