Thanks to start/stop, low rolling resistance tyres, regenerative brakes and an optimised ECU, the Bluemotion averages 4.5l/100km and has CO2 emissions of 117g/km (4.6l/100km and 119g/km for the passenger version).

Bluemotion versions of the Caddy are due to go on sale in Germany just after the Frankfurt show. All will have the short wheelbase body, with panel van, kombi van and passenger van configurations to be available.

The Caddy small van and passenger van series is manufactured in Poznan, with the Polish plant also supplying CKD kits to the Volkswagen Group’s Kaluga plant for assembly in Russia. A replacement for this now ten-year old vehicle is expected in 2014 or 2015.
