The plant is located in Mioveni in a newly constructed supplier park and will initially employ around 300 people to serve Dacia’s existing and future programs.

Valeo says that it is the first supplier to be nominated to supply wiring systems to Dacia, superceding in-house wiring manufacture.

“This manufacturing facility is an important expansion of Valeo’s presence in the growing East European market. It is our aim to support our customers in their globalisation strategy and we are pleased to contribute to the Renault-Dacia expansion,” said Thierry Morin, Chairman of Valeo’s Management Board.

“We are pleased to welcome Valeo to our integrated supplier park.  We expect Dacia cars to benefit from Valeo’s extensive expertise in electrical distribution systems,” said Christian Estève, General Manager, Dacia.

Dacia was acquired by Renault in 1999.
