Renault has announced a second round of styling changes for its X91 Laguna hatchback and wagon range, as well as the D91 coupe. The successor models for these six-year old D-segment cars are still two years away.

The makeover is minor and consists of LED DRL for the hatchback and wagon, plus new 16-inch alloy rims, as well as the availability of a dual clutch EDC transmission across the range.

The third generation Laguna hatchback and wagon premiered at the Frankfurt show in September 2007 and went on sale across Europe the following month. The architecture is an update of the previous Laguna’s.

Facelifted versions of the hatchback and Grandtour (wagon) were launched at the Paris motor show in September 2010. The coupe was not updated until February 2012, at which time it gained LED daytime running lights and a couple of other small changes. All three are built at Sandouville in France.

Renault Great Britain stopped taking imports of the Laguna in early 2012. This was part of a strategy to slash the number of model lines that it sells. Renault Italia has also cut its own model offering: it no longer markets the hatchback, offering only the two-door car and the Sportour (wagon).

What Renault is calling its ‘Laguna Collection 2013’ is due to begin reaching European dealerships from mid-June.

The replacement model due in 2015 will be built at the Douai plant as Sandouville switches over to production of light commercials.
