PSA Peugeot Citroën said it has revised its 2009 forecasts significantly upwards due to the recent improvement in the automobile market and the ongoing success of new Peugeot and Citroën models.

The company said in a statement that the Group’s production and sales performance is significantly stronger than forecast at the end of the first half.
It added: “Output in the fourth-quarter 2009 will be 30% higher than in the prior-year period and 17% higher than in the third-quarter 2009. Given these developments, PSA Peugeot Citroën has revised its 2009 forecasts significantly upwards:
“Recurring operating income for the second half is expected to break even. Full-year free cash flow is expected to be positive.”
