PSA is evaluating the effect of a software glitch at supplier Agrati that has affected production at several sites across Europe.

The French manufacturer operates five factories in France, one in Spain and one in Slovakia, with the stoppage centering on a shortage of screws from the Italian supplier.

“The factory in Slovakia has restarted normal work today – all factories involved are starting to come back to normal,” a PSA spokesman in France told just-auto. “The problem is in the course of being resolved.

“We think full production will be back by the end of the week – it is too early to talk about consequences of production. It is quite complicated as the systems are in real time. Often there is one line that is impacted and not the other, so we are in the middle of evaluating the impact of production.”

The issue appears to hinge on a new IT system introduced at Agrati this summer that led to disruptions of around two hours at various PSA plants.

“We are confident this problem will be resolved, it will take a bit of time,” added the PSA spokesman.
