Russian Railways and PSA Peugeot Citroen are remaining tight-lipped concerning reports the train operator is mulling a major stake in the French automaker’s logistics arm, Gefco.
PSA is looking to offload part of Gefco, with speculation in Russia centering on the national rail company making an offer.

“We have planned a sale of part of Gefco, but we have no comment at all on rumours we read in the Russian press,” a PSA spokeswoman told just-auto from Paris.
“We have no comment on these rumours, yes we saw them. I don’t have a [sale] timetable – I guess that would be before the end of the year but we have no precise dates.”
PSA declined to reveal what percentage of Gefco it was looking to sell, although reports indicate it could be up to 75%.
Russian Railways in Moscow was not immediately available for comment.
