PSA Peugeot Citroen is to meet its unions tomorrow (29 May) in the first of several negotiations to discuss how the automaker can remain a manufacturer, “rooted” in France.
“Through the initiative of a new social contract, the objective is to engage staff, individually and collectively, in a strategic vision and future projects of the business,” said a PSA statement.

“The first meeting will be on 29 May. It will cover the topics, challenges and objectives of the negotiations, as well as the timetable.”
One of PSA unions, the CFE-CGC, said it would take part in the talks in “a spirit of openness” and would contribute “positive and lucid” proposals.
“Concerning strategy, this must be constructed with worker representatives, taking into account their preoccupations and allowing jobs to stay in France,” said a CFE-CGC statement.
Last week, PSA announced it would move 660 workers at the Meudon-La-Foret facility and put it up for sale, but stressed no staff would be made redundant.
