Further co-operation between Nissan and its 44% controller Renault SA: Dow Jones reported that the two car companies on Friday said they plan to set up a spare parts warehouse in Hungary at the end of next year to cater to rapidly rising demand in central Europe.

According to the report, the warehouse will be set up at Gyor, a town 100 kilometres (about 60 miles) from Vienna and 60 kilometres from Bratislava, and will deliver parts to Austria, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovakia.

Dow Jones said the decision is a further step in the efforts of Renault and Nissan to exploit synergies from their alliance – the two marques already have a joint parts warehouse in the UK.

Also in the UK: a sizeable Nissan factory building the Micra [March], Almera [a Sentra/Sunny derivative] and Primera for sale in Europe – and further afield.

Nissan’s other main factory building vehicles for Europe is in Spain, and builds models for both brands.
