France’s Economic Redevelopment Minster, Arnaud Montebourg, has welcomed a Court decision to allow the takeover of automotive steel component company, Metaltemple Savoie’s assets.

The move, which will save 160 jobs out of a possible 196 according to reports, was approved by the Tribunal de Commerce de Chambery in South East France in a deal that will allow the acquisition from Italian businessman, Gianpiero Colla.

“Encouraged by the renewed confidence of its customers – vehicle manufacturers both French and overseas – Gianpiero Colla has decided to take over the activity of Metaltemple Savoie [and put it] at the heart of new company MT Technology,” said a statement from the Economic Redevelopment Minister.

“The Ministry congratulates the Italian entrepreneur for this brave decision, which as well as keeping this unique know-how in France, will allow 160 jobs to be saved.”

Montebourg also highlighted the job of those working to keep “industrial tools” and employment, especially that of the Procurator General of Chambery, the administrator, of the Industrial Restructuring Interministerial Committee and its cabinet.
