The Group has been involved in a process to negotiate and define a New Social Contract with all employee representatives since 29 May, 2013.
The automaker said the agreement is “designed to involve employees in the Group’s recovery and to maintain PSA’s industrial and technological base” in France.
“The signature took place last night,” CFTC union leader, Franck Don, told just-auto from France. “It was at the end of the Central Works Council.
“The four unions represented around 65% of the workers. From here to 2016, each production factory will have a new model – that normally lasts six to eight years – that is a commitment that is written.”
For his part, Varin added: “I would like to salute the sense of commitment and responsibility demonstrated by employee representatives through this agreement, which has resulted in strengthened social cohesion.
“It represents a powerful commitment from PSA Peugeot Citroën to preserve strong bases in France.”
