GM vice chairman and ‘product czar’ Bob Lutz told Reuters reporters in Paris that the Hummer brand needs more models.

At present the brand consists of three models Hummer H2, H2 SUT and H3.
Lutz said it needs two or three more products to provide sufficient market coverage. One option is a pick-up, with ‘ample’ passenger space, said Lutz. Another option that has been mooted in the past is a small SUV that would compete with the Jeep Wrangler.
Reuters noted that, earlier this year, GM investor Kirk Kerkorian, who recently instigated alliance talks with Renault-Nissan, put pressure on GM management to consider spinning off Hummer.
But GM executives argued that the brand is performing well with sales up 50% this year, and it will therefore contribute positively to the company’s North American turnaround.
