Nissan and Renault sold a total of 2,968,357 and 2,388,958 vehicles, respectively and the two companies’ combined global market share came to 9.3% (4.1% for the Renault group and 5.2% for Nissan), ranking the alliance among the world’s top five carmakers.


The Renault group sold 111,431 vehicles under the Renault Samsung Motors nameplate (down 4.8%) and 68,627 Dacia-branded vehicles (up 18.8%).


Commercial co-operation within the alliance bolstered the performance of Renault and Nissan in many regions of the world and helped both car makers expand operations in new markets, a company statement claimed.
