According to the newspaper, Bernard Krief Consulting, which specialises in turning around struggling businesses, has made an offer which would involve keeping 500 of the group’s 1,000 workers.
The consulting firm said Heuliez’s plans for electric vehicle manufacturing – unveiled at this year’s Geneva show – meant it could be saved.
The consultancy will present its plans to workers and the administrator charged with sorting out Heuliez in coming weeks.
In March, the French government agreed to invest EUR10m (US$14.11m) in Heuliez which was placed into creditor protection in April.
