New Romanian built models replace existing Turkish built line
The Ford Otosan Craiova plant will officially start production of the new Transit and Tourneo Courier models alongside Puma on 24 October, romania-insider.com reported, citing Ziarul Financiar.
It had already begun assembling first units of the new Tourneo Courier generation last summer of this year.
Officially, production starts this month and electric versions are expected in the second half of 2024.
The group announced earlier it would recruit 1,300 new workers for Craiova, to bring the total number to 6,500 and increase capacity from 250,000 to 272,000 units.
