Nokian Tyres is to start statutory negotiations on 5 November at its Nokia plant in Finland in a move that could result in 45 redundancies.
The manufacturer says its plan will “adjust production to meet the market situation” and that changing capacity will generate cost savings.

The agenda of the negotiations includes possible changes in shift system and use of short-time working methods.
Potential adjustments have been planned to be carried out mainly with lay-offs during next year.
The negotiations involve around 600 workers and staff at car tyre production, maintenance and quality departments at Nokia as well as all 260 of Nokian Heavy Tyres’ employees.
Possible staff cuts will amount to a maximum of 45 people.
