Faurecia plans to open an interiors factory in Blue Springs, Missouri.

The new palnt will create 300 jobs and begins production later this year, ramping up to full output by the end of 2020.

Total spend is expected to be around US$60m on the 250,000 sq ft plant.

"Faurecia is proud to open this new site and to provide new opportunities for local job seekers," said the suppliers North America interiors president Donald Hampton.

"The Kansas City region offers a strong competitive advantage to growing manufacturing operations, particularly in the automotive industry," said Tim Cowden, president and CEO, of the local area development council.

"We are very proud to welcome Faurecia to our robust automotive cluster and look forward to the company's success in our region."

Faurecia will manufacture and assemble door panels and instrument panels in the new factory. It already employs 600 people in the state at its clean mobility plant in Dexter and a seating factory in Wentzville.
