The sale of GM unit Saab to Dutch luxury sportscar maker Spyker could be finalised today (23 February) following intensive negotiations.
“We are expecting it. It could be today, this week, next week, we can’t say exactly,” a Spyker spokesman told just-auto on Tuesday.

Any announcement would see the final piece in the sale jigsaw slot into place, following recent approval of a EUR400m (US$544m) European Investment Bank (EIB) loan.
Authorisation of the loan, backed by a guarantee from the Swedish national debt office, will allow Spyker to buy Saab for $74m with a final payment of $US24m due next July.
A Saab spokesman in Sweden said: “There has been speculation there may be some activity in Stockholm. We are not honing the media in on any particular day.
“Everyone has been working towards close and we to close the deal in the near future. The first step is the binding agreement and the next part clearly is the close.”
General Motors declined to comment.
