SsangYong Motor has told just-auto that its third design study for a future small crossover will be revealed at the Paris motor show next month. The production model, a rival for the Chevrolet Trax, should follow in 2013.
The SsangYong spokesperson did not name the design study but ‘XIV-3’ seems likely. This follows the appearance of the XIV-1 concept at September 2011’s Frankfurt motor show, followed by the XIV-2, a convertible derivative, at Geneva back in March.

There have been rumours for some time that SsangYong and its parent firm Mahindra & Mahindra would collaborate for a new model to sit below the C-segment Korando C. The appearance of the recent concepts has added fuel to that speculation: M&M is said to be working on a small SUV, codenamed S101, which is due for launch in India during 2014.
The production version of the XIV-3 is likely to be revealed in 2013 at either the Geneva or Seoul motor shows.
