To increase deliveries, GM has begun a third shift in its plant in Halol, Gujarat. Current capacity of the facility is 30,000 units but this is being ramped up to 50,000 units per year by next year.

In June, GM shifted 800 units and aims to deliver another 1,000 in July. By the last quarter of the year 2004, deliveries will stabilise to 1,500 units per month closing the year with approximately 8,500 units.

With the capacity expansion in place in 2005, the company targets selling 24,000 to 25,000 Taveras.
