Some of Infiniti’s future model plans have been revealed to just-auto.com. This includes the world premiere of a QX30 concept at the Geneva motor show in March.
Production of this intended rival for the Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class, BMW X1 and Audi Q3 will be at the Sunderland plant in England, but Infiniti executives would not state when Job 1 would be. Like the Q30, the QX30 will use Daimler’s front- and all-wheel drive MFA architecture.

Despite production of the Q30 being due to commence at Sunderland “in the autumn”, Infiniti has chosen not to reveal the car at Geneva. Instead, it will have its world premiere at an event, not a motor show “some time between Geneva and Frankfurt”, according to Infiniti’s man.
Sunderland will have the capacity to manufacture 60,000 units per annum of the Q30. In July 2014, Andy Palmer, who was at the time Infiniti’s chairman, told the media this factory would supply all markets, including the US and China.
As for a production version of the just-shown Q60 concept (Detroit show), this will appear “within the next two years”. There might not be a replacement for the Q60 convertible either, due to the steadily shrinking demand for open-topped cars worldwide.
