A company spokesperson has told just-auto that Ford will “neither confirm nor deny” whether a replacement for the Galaxy will be launched. Production of the current model will end on 18 December.
Mondeo production has just begun at the the Almussafes plant near Valencia, and the next S-MAX will also be built there in 2015. The second of these had its world debut at the Paris motor show in October. The outgoing Mondeo, as well as the related Galaxy and S-MAX, were or still are, built on the same line at Genk in Belgium. That factory will be closed later this month.

Until now, it had been thought that a new Galaxy would be manufactured in Spain alongside the Mondeo and S-MAX. Should a third generation model fail to appear as a world premiere at the Geneva show in March, it would be safe to assume that this, project CD390, has been cancelled.
