2001 from 174,238 in first-half 2000, according to provisional results provided
to just-auto.com by the Automotive Industry Association there.

Cars, accounting for 97.3% of foreign sales, rose 23.2% to 198,961 in January-to-June
2001 from 161,430 in January-to-June 2000.

Otherwise, volumes rose year-on-year: 127.1% for trailers to 302 from 133;
and 8.1% for buses to 308 from 285. Totals fell: 64.1% for commercial vehicles
to 3,664 from 10,215; and 44.5% for motorcycles to 1,208 from 2,175.

In 2000 versus 1999, auto exports expanded 14.0% to 361,199 from 316,884. Increases
tallied: 20.7% for buses to 776 from 643; and 16.6% for cars to 336,649 from
288,712. Decreases amounted to: 59.6% for trailers to 370 from 916; 13.2% for
commercial vehicles to 20,008 from 23,056; and 4.5% for motorcycles to 3,396
from 3,557.
