Young was speaking on the sidelines of a press presentation of a new one-litre flex-fuel engine version of the uniquely Brazilian-made Chevrolet Celta compact hatchback at GM’s Cruz Alta proving ground in São Paulo state.
Young said the new project was debated last week during an international video conference meeting attended by GM product planning and engineering staff located world-wide.
If the project is approved, the car would be developed by engineering teams from Brazil, South Korea and China.
