EXCLUSIVE: BRAZIL: BMW 2001 Central & South American sales up 20.5%
BMW's South and Central America division Latinoamerica recorded a 20.5 percent increase in sales for 2001, writes Rogerio Louro Alves. Last year BMW sold 5,530 vehicles in 18 South and Central America countries, compared with 4,588 in 2000. Brazil was BMW's biggest market in the region with 1,957 vehicles sold in 2001, an increase of 39 percent over the 1,412 sold in 2000. Argentina recorded a fall of 4.7 percent to 1,143 vehicles compared with 1,200 vehicles in 2000.
