Sales increased 61.4 percent to 13,693 vehicles compared with 8,485 in February.
Argentine exports also rose last month to 9,976 units, an increase of 16.8 percent over the 8,543 vehicles shipped in February.
However, the first quarter of 2002 was down compared with last year with 23,389 vehicles built, down 55.4 percent on the 52,463 vehicles made in the first three months of 2001.
Sales fell 50.5 percent to 25,824 units compared with the 52,200 in Q1, 2001.
Exports decreased 38.4 percent in the first quarter of 2002 to 22,092 vehicles compared with 35,844 units a year ago.
