Former Tesla executive Rebecca Tinucci has been hired by Uber to oversee the firm’s shift to EVs, Reuters reports, citing an internal memo it has seen.
Ms Tinucci was part of Tesla’s EV charging team which was abruptly disbanded by Elon Musk following cost-cutting measures.

Ms Tinucci will start in September Uber’s global head of sustainability. She will report to Andrew Macdonald, head of Uber’s mobility business.
In the internal memo, Mr Macdonald said: “Her deep expertise, relationships across the automotive industry… will be an incredible asset to the Uber team as we continue to drive towards zero emissions.”
Tinucci was a part of Tesla’s top brass, leading its EV charging team before company chief Elon Musk disbanded most of the team as a part of large cost cutting efforts.
