The entry-level diesel engine option with the new Range Rover Evoque meets the Real Driving Emissions 2 (RDE2) standard, it has been confirmed.
This means it will not incur the 4% BIK tax surcharge normally applied to diesel company cars.

The 150hp engine is RDE2 compliant when paired with a six-speed manual gearbox and front-wheel drive, as opposed to the nine-speed auto and four-wheel drive arrangement it is also available with, and which is standard with the rest of the engines in the range.
The Evoque is the latest Jaguar Land Rover car to be available in an RDE2-compliant spec, following some versions of the Jaguar XF and XE.
The firm says the 150hp manual Evoque has met the standard due to a low-friction engine design, efficient diesel particulate filters and the use of Adblue.
All new cars will be required to meet the RDE2 standard – which requires NOx emissions of no more than 80g/km – from January 2020.
Prices for the new Evoque in RDE2-compliant spec start from GBP31,600.
