European Commission (EC) authorities have approved, through the EU Merger Regulation, the acquisition of sole control of SAS Autosystemtechnik by Faurecia.
SAS specialises in the assembly of cockpit modules for passenger cars and commercial vehicles. SAS is currently jointly controlled by Faurecia and Continental.
Faurecia is a subsidiary of Faurecia SA and is ultimately controlled by Peugeot.
The Commission concluded the proposed acquisition would raise no competition concerns, because Faurecia already controls SAS.
The transaction was examined under the simplified merger review procedure.
